Showing tremendous depth and refinement for a young wine - a mark of the skill of its maker - the Calathus Cabernet Franc 2020 is an Argentinian take on a French favourite; slightly drier and more medium-bodied than the huge, plump Malbecs from Bodega Finca Don Carlos.
Scents of strawberry jam and oak continue on the tongue, blending with notes of leather, chilli pepper, and a light minerality, with the whole mouthful leaving a warm, strong finish on the palette. The tannins are particularly pronounced. We recommend a pairing with a French cassoulet or a hearty Spanish stew.
