Finca Don Carlos is incredibly proud of their Malbec, and those who've already sampled it know why.

There are the classic velvety aromas of ripe red fruits and plums, while on the tongue the familiar soft, rounded tannins indicative of a great Malbec, and the mouth-filling flavour of succulent autumn berries.

As the nights draw in it's the ideal accompaniment to those hearty dishes and warm hearths.

Aged for 11 months in 225-liter French oak -first to third use- barrels, then 14 months bottled under controlled light, humidity and temperature in the cellar, Calathus Malbec has pure deep aromas of ripe red fruit, plums and velvety tannins. In the mouth it is very expressive and balanced, offering a true taste of the richness and complexity of truly great Argentinian wine.

Calathus - Finca Don Carlos

Finca Don Carlos's vineyards are located in Tupungato, in the heart of Mendoza's Uco Valley, 1,000 metres above sea level. The 40 year old vines are planted on espaliers and pergola trellises (also known as parral cuyano). The winery was founded in 2003 and the Calathus branded wines you find on our website are named after the ceramic vases that were used to serve wine in Roman times.
