Carmelo Patti Gran Assemblage 2008 - Only 6 bottles remaining

Very much the 'El Jefe' of Carmelo Patti's wines, his Gran Assemblage is the bottled embodiment of his decades of skill as a winemaker: a mixture of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 20% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc carefully selected from the finest quality grapes by Carmelo himself.

It's then aged in French oak for 12 months, giving it strong tannins and the classic green pepper and smoky notes indicative of Carmelo Patti's wines, but also the finesse and tannic structure of a fine Bordeaux. The result? Imagine if Margaux mastered the Argentine Tango in your mouth...

A truly special wine, only 5,508 bottles of Carmelo's Gran Assemblage were created. Does scarcity equal quality? In this case, most definitely. If you can restrain yourself from drinking now (a feat we have yet to achieve) this wine will undoubtedly improve with age and cellar well until 2025

(Alcohol Volume 13.9%)

Carmello Patti - Bodega Carmelo Patti

Carmelo Patti has been making wine for over forty years and is one of the most respected winemakers in the Argentine wine world. He runs his small boutique winery in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza and produces about 20,000 litres per year using Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. He runs every element of the operation himself with all the care and artistry of a master craftsman. He will not sell the wine until he deems it ready for release, usually at least 4-5 years after harvest, with at least 3 of those years in bottle.
